Shirley Ann King, 72, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 4:10 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018, in Logan Acres Care Center.
She was born in Logan County on Feb. 23, 1946, a daughter of the late Harold William and Mary Elizabeth Williamson Hanks.
On Aug. 11, 1973, she married James H. “Jim” King and he survives.
She is also survived by a sister, Connie Sue (Rita “Corky” Shepler, good friend) Hanks of Bellefontaine and a goddaughter, Shannon Link of Delaware, Ohio; and several cousins.
Shirley was a member of the DeGraff United Methodist Church and had worked in the medical field for 23+ years, most recently as a RN.
She was a member of the RONA for retired registered nurses. Three words that best described Shirley were quiet, kind and compassionate. She loved watching tennis, the Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals, and joining her husband in cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Pastor John Eley officiates a funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine, where visitation is from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12. Burial is in Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff at a later date.
