Police: Man charged in fatal shooting of fiancée

NEWARK, Ohio (AP) — Police say a woman has been fatally shot at an apartment in Ohio and her fiance has been arrested on a charge of aggravated murder.

Newark police say they were called to the apartment around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday and found 20-year-old Sierra Beal dead of a gunshot wound.

Authorities say Beal's fiance, Kameron Skally, told officers that Beal had shot herself.

Police said in a release that examination of evidence at the scene and statements by Skally led investigators to believe that he caused Beal's death.

The 19-year-old Newark man was arrested and taken to the Licking County jail. Court records don't indicate whether he has an attorney yet.
