Girl Scout Troop 20556 of Belle Center recently traveled to Savannah, Ga., where they visited Girl Scout First Headquarters, the birthplace and the grave of Juliette Gordon Low, the founder of Girl Scouts. They also visited the Savannah History Museum, where the bench and suitcase from the movie, Forrest Gump are on display. Pictured with the Examiner at the display are, from the left, Alicia Jenkins, Bostyn Moots and Taylor Carnes; while Ireland Godsey, second from the right, and Allie Shields, right, hold a box of Marie’s candies as a nod to Gump’s “life is like a box of chocolate” line in the movie. The troop raised money over the past year to fund the week-long trip and are appreciative of the people and businesses who helped make it possible.
