Team Fiji from Benjamin Logan Middle School won an Outstanding Resolution Award and an Outstanding Leadership trophy at the recent Junior Ohio Model United Nations competition in Columbus, which was attended by more than 1,050 student delegates from across the state. Team members included Anna Blake, Joseph Gulick, Mason Hammer, Vance McClanahan and Mason Manns. Fiji was 1 of 12 nations to receive the leadership award to recognize the superior quality of their resolution. BLMS also sent two other student delegations for teams Finland and Spain. Their resolutions were selected for further debate in General Assembly or the Human Rights Council. For the delegation of Spain, the students involved were Ashley Gantt, Kenna Hone, Katie Meier, Maddie Robinson, Annika Simovart and Mailiis Simovart. Team Finland members included Ben Coffield, Jamie Gill, Jacob McKenrick, Ammon Miller, Blake Peterson, Ethan Ricketts and Elijah Ruggieri. Advisers are Bobby Gill and Amy McCormick.
