DECA students share state conference projects with Rotarians

Bellefontaine High School DECA students shared snippets of their presentations for the group’s upcoming state conference with Bellefontaine Rotary Club members Monday.

The students spoke about their projects, which ranged from topics such as identity theft and distracted driving to DECA’s recent Logan County Bridal and Prom Expo event.

Several local businesses and organizations assisted students with their projects.

DECA members attending the March 13-14 conference in Columbus will be required to give 5-minute presentations based on 30-page papers they compiled.

Katie Rychener, BHS DECA advisor, and 11 of her 49 DECA students attended the meeting. They included: Caleb Mitchell, Michaela Baker, Janay Logan, Sierra Rhoades, Javan Deslandes, Zack Cox, Jhealeen Ballesteros, Brenda Johnson, Kenzie Patton, Cayden Dement, Dean Smith, and Ms. Rychener's husband and Rotary member, Darrin "DECA Dad" Haubert.

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.
