Eight Indian Lake/Ohio Hi-Point FFA Chapter officers recently met for an officer retreat at chapter president Lexi Clem’s house to discuss the next school year.
They discussed various events, such as the fruit sale and chapter Christmas party.
The officers also had fun drafting their own teams with other students in the chapter to create the “ultimate team” to encourage new members to get involved. The team that participates in the most activities will receive various rewards throughout the year.
Also this summer, nine members of the chapter attended Ohio FFA Camp Muskingum in Carrollton with past state officers and other students from chapters around Ohio.
The members participated in various activities, such as shooting at the rifle, shotgun, and archery range; along with paddle boarding, kayaking, and canoeing team, ping pong, softball and other sports. They also assisted with camp clean up and learned new skills through state officer workshops, and team building skills from Adventure Valley.
At the conclusion of camp, two of Indian Lake students were selected to throw a pie in the face of a state officer, camp staff member or chapter adviser. Member Ethan Knief selected Indian Lake FFA Adviser Tanner Schoen and Cheyenne Hill selected to pie State Officer Mallary Caudill.
