Several patriotic themed quilts, which will be donated to local veterans during Veterans Day services, greeted guests Saturday at the Logan Piecemakers’ second-annual quilt show at the Logan County History Center. The weekend event, which drew quilters from all around Ohio, featured 232 total quilts, including eight antique quilts and a series called “A River Runs through It” that combined various quilted images of the Mad River by different quilters into a single display, event co-chair Bonnie Hansen said. There were also various demonstrations and a Sunday afternoon Iron Quilter competition in which teams competed head-to-head to make the best patriotic-themed pieces given only certain materials.
