The beef and dairy industries in Logan County took center stage Tuesday evening at Winner Harvest Barn at the joint annual banquet.

The Don Selhorst Family of Rushsylvania received the Friend of Beef award from the Logan County Cattle Association. With his son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Lisa Selhorst, and his grandson, Troy, the three generations of beef producers farm some 125 acres of ground around their County Road 113 residences. Their shorthorn herd numbers about 30 currently, with plans in place to increase that number soon, along with a herd of about 25 sheep. The younger Troy is a senior animal science major at the University of Findlay and hopes to continue employment in the agriculture industry.
