NEW UPDATE: 2 arrested in Sidney armed robbery, additional suspect turns himself in

SIDNEY — Officers of the Sidney Police Department report Sidney resident William Blankenship, 19, turned himself in about 2:45 p.m. Thursday at the Shelby County Sheriff Office. 

Mr. Blankenship is a third suspect who was allegedly involved in an early Wednesday robbery and assault of a 38-year-old woman in the 100 block of north Walnut Avenue, Sidney. He has been charged with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony, and is currently lodged in the Shelby County Jail.

Two other suspects, Skyler J. Reynolds, 19, of Sidney, and a 17-year-old male juvenile from Sidney, also have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

SIDNEY — Officers of the Sidney Police Department have arrested two suspects and are currently searching for a third suspect involved in an armed robbery and assault Wednesday that sent a 38-year-old woman to an area hospital. 

Skyler J. Reynolds, 19, of Sidney, and a 17-year-old male juvenile from Sidney each was charged with one count of aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony. 

Officers continue to search for the third suspect, William K. Blankenship, 19, who resides at 827 S. Ohio Ave., Sidney. 

About 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, officers responded to the 100 block of north Walnut Avenue, Sidney. A 38-year-old female who was walking in the area was approached by three male subjects wearing hoodies and sock hats. All three suspects reportedly were armed with what appeared to be handguns and demanded the victim’s property. 

The victim attempted to call the police using her cell phone when one of the suspects struck her face with the handgun, causing severe injuries to her. She was transported to Wilson Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Mr. Reynolds is incarcerated at the Shelby County Jail and the juvenile has been lodged at the West Central Detention Facility in Troy.

Officers are actively searching for Mr. Blankenship, who may be armed.
