Vehicle break-in reported at restaurant

Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department responded to KFC, 817 S. Main St., about 5:25 p.m. Thursday in reference to a vandalism complaint. 

Katelynn Newland of Belle Center reported that her car’s front side passenger window had been broken out while she was working at the restaurant. Her purse and a duffel bag were taken from the vehicle. The purse and duffel bag contained her cell phone, driver’s license, credit cards and other personal items. 

Officers reviewed video surveillance from the business and observed a suspect break into the vehicle. Further investigation is pending.  

• Officers responded to the residence of Sally Pack, 225 E. Patterson Ave., about 10:35 p.m. Wednesday in reference to a theft complaint. 

She reported that her purse containing credit cards and her checkbook was stolen from her unlocked vehicle while it was parked in the 300 block of south Park Street.
