Voters in the Ridgemont Local School District approved during Tuesday’s primary election the district’s request to renew an existing 0.75 percent income tax for operating expenses.

In Hardin and Logan counties, the issue was approved 259 votes to 224 votes. Logan County voters in Bokescreek and Rushcreek townships cast 47 “yes” votes to 35 “no” votes for the levy, according to unofficial results.

It was the lone ballot item for Logan County voters Tuesday and the Bokescreek Township Building 188 W. Highland St., West Mansfield, was the polling place open for both precincts.

Superintendent Emmy Beeson thanked the community for supporting the operating levy, which she said will put the district on solid footing moving into the future.

“I would like to express my sincere thanks to our community for supporting our income tax renewal,” she said in an e-mail statement. “We are grateful for the opportunity to continue down the path we are on and work toward designing the future.
