SHERIFF BEAT: Teen issued summons for telecommunications harassment

Rebecca A. Savidge, 18, of 243 E. Marshall St., Russells Point, was issued a summons for telecommunications harassment Wednesday.

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint March 19 from a 16-year-old Indian Lake area girl, who reported that Ms. Savidge had been sending threatening text messages to her.

Ms. Savidge was located and was issued the summons.

Drivers cited in non-injury crashes

Jacob Lozano, 21, of Kenton, was cited for failure to control following a one-vehicle non-injury crash about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday on State Route 292.

He reportedly was operating a southbound car near County Road 50 when he drove off the right side of the road on a sweeping curve and overcorrected. He then drove back onto the road and off the left side, coming to rest in a field.

Damage was moderate to his car. He was wearing his seat belt.

• Cathy S. VanHoose, 60, of St. Paris, also was cited for failure to control following a crash about 6:20 a.m. Wednesday on State Route 235.

She was operating a northbound car and attempted to make a left turn onto County Road 35. She stated she swerved to avoid deer in the road and she struck a stop sign.

She did not report any injuries and was wearing her seat belt. Damage to her car was moderate.
