Teens stopped with stolen items
Two teens were charged Wednesday with delinquency theft after they attempted to leave Wal-Mart Supercenter, 2281 S. Main St., with two airsoft pistols, paint pellets and a compressed air container.
John M. Messer Jr., 17, of 416 E. Sandusky Ave., and Austin E.R. Payne, 16, of 348 E. Sandusky Ave., Apt. 18, concealed the items in a backpack and were stopped around 4:45 p.m. trying to leave.
John was uncooperative with store personnel and threatened to harm them. Logan County Sheriff’s Auxiliary Deputy Jeff Cooper intervened and convinced the teen to go with store staff to the loss prevention office.
Both teens are on probation and both were lodged in the Logan County Juvenile Detention Center.
