Through a partnership with the Russells Point Police Department, Mary Rutan Foundation has placed a permanent medication drop box in the lobby of the Russells Point Municipal Building, 433 State Route 708.
Much like a mail drop box, the placement allows residents to safely dispose of expired or unneeded medication anonymously and at no cost.
Items that can be dropped off include pills and patches, prescription medication, over-the-counter drugs, medication samples and pet medication.
Needles, syringes (sharps), liquids and inhalers are not allowed.
