Urbana to honor Ohio State Buckeyes

URBANA — Urbana Mayor Bill Bean will declare Urbana “The City of Urban” effective all day on Jan. 12 when the Ohio State Buckeyes play Oregon in the National Championship Game. The event is to honor Buckeye Coach Urban Meyer and his players, coaching staff and loyal fans.

The certificate of recognition for The City of Urban will be presented near Grimes Field at 11a.m. Thursday.

This sign located at the eastern gateway to the city of Urbana shows the final "a" in Urbana covered up by a Buckeye logo. The City of Urban will be named for Ohio State Coach Urban Meyer on Jan. 12. Footprints in the snow show the sign change was made on Tuesday.
