American Legion Post 173, 120 Colton Ave., hosts a public ribeye steak and chops dinner from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, to benefit the 40/8 scholarship fund.
The cost ranges from $9 to $14, depending on choices.

The VFW Frank Castle Post 1080 serves breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday, Jan. 4. The meal is open to the public.
Eagles auxiliary to convene for bylaw vote
Ladies Auxiliary of Eagles Aerie 2166 convenes Thursday, Jan. 8, to vote on changes in the bylaws pertaining to dues and Golden Age Eagles requirements after the third and final reading of the measure.
Liberty Township groups to reorganize
The Liberty Township Zoning Commission and the Zoning Appeals Board hold reorganization meetings at 7 p.m. Jan. 20 in the West Liberty Town Hall.
E-HEAP assistance available
The Community Action Organization of Delaware, Madison and Union counties also serving Champaign, Logan and Shelby counties offers assistance to area residents with application for the Emergency Home Energy Assistance Program, or E-HEAP, which runs through March 31.
Income eligibility is 175 percent of the federal poverty guidelines, or $41,737.50 per year for a family of four.
E-HEAP provides financial assistance once per heating season to households that are: threatened with disconnection, already disconnected, or have less than 25 percent supply of bulk fuel, wood or coal. E-HEAP can also cover assistance to establish or transfer service.
The following documents required for assistance: Social Security numbers for every household member; all pages of your current electric and gas bill or information on bulk fuel; birth dates for every household member; proof of any and all income received within the last 13 weeks for all household members; if renting, lease agreement or rent receipt with landlord's name, address and phone number; Job and Family Services case number; and if disabled, proof of disability.
