Brothers charged after home invasion in Sidney

SIDNEY — Officers of the Sidney Police Department report that two Sidney area brothers were arrested early this morning following a home invasion that took place in the city Thursday evening.

Zachary Poore, 19, of 231 Highland Ave., Sidney, and Justin Poore, 24, 2481 Apache Dr., Sidney, each was charged with one count of aggravated burglary and one count of felonious assault, both first-degree felonies. They are currently lodged in the Shelby County Jail.

About 8:25 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to 306 E. Court St., Sidney, in reference to a home invasion with an occupant being injured.

Officers met with resident Travis Tubb, 23, who had sustained multiple knife-inflicted wounds during the incident. He was transported by a Sidney squad to Wilson Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released.

Mr. Tubb and his father, John, said two male suspects had kicked in their front door and began assaulting them. One of the suspects reportedly was armed with a knife.

The father and son pair reportedly fought back against the intruders using blunt-type instruments.

Several minutes after the Court Street call, officers and medics responded to Justin Poore’s address. Upon arrival, officers observed that Justin and his brother had injuries consistent with blunt-type trauma.

Zachary was treated and released from Wilson Memorial Hospital, and Justin refused medical treatment.

Investigation into this incident is ongoing. Any witnesses are encouraged to call the police department at 498-2351.
