Teen, mother lodged in trafficking investigation

A 17-year-old already facing charges in adult court was arrested Wednesday for trafficking in marijuana and his mother was charged with permitting drug abuse and/or trafficking.

Elijah “Duke” Leeper and Foxi A. Carter, 36, both of 314 N. Park St., each was taken into custody after deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant around 1:40 p.m. The Bellefontaine Police Department’s canine unit assisted at the scene.

The warrants came after an investigation by the Logan County Joint Drug Task Force.

Leeper is currently free on bond from a July 2018 burglary charge. He was named in a Logan County grand jury indictments and was bound over in May from the Logan County Juvenile Court to the Logan County Common Pleas Court.

He was lodged in the Logan County Juvenile Detention Center while Carter is lodged in the Logan County Jail.

THC oil and $340 were seized from the home.

Logan County Children’s Services were called to assist with other children at the residence.
