Richard A. Roof, 51, of Sidney, was charged with violating a civil protection order related to an incident Monday afternoon in DeGraff.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded about 3:30 p.m. to an address on Ellis Street to speak with the protected party in the civil protection order, Roof’s ex-wife.
She told deputies that she had been driving in the village that afternoon and saw her ex-husband Roof driving behind her. She said she made a turn to try to avoid him, and then she drove to her mother’s residence on Ellis Street.
The protected party said Roof then drove by her mother’s residence and made an obscene gesture at her and her daughter as he drove by.
Deputies located Roof at his family member’s residence on north Main Street and he was placed under arrest and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
