Paint the Plow display

Snowplow blade art

Snowplows hopefully won’t be needed in the next several months, but during these warmer conditions, local student artwork is on display in a unique form at the Lake Avenue entrance to the Logan County Fair throughout this week. The Paint the Plow art contest is offered by the Ohio Department of Transportation, and last school year, students were charged with designing and painting an actual ODOT snowplow blade. Artwork from pupils at Indian Lake, Riverside, Bellefontaine and Calvary Christian schools and Mac-A-Cheek Learning Center are all featured in the fairground display. Once snowy weather blankets the region again, the painted blades will be attached to plow trucks to use on roadways near the school districts in which they were painted. (EXAMINER PHOTO | MANDY LOEHR)
