Logan County libraries offer far out summer activities

Logan County libraries invite children on a summer reading space adventures throughout June and July with a number of hands-on, astronomical-themed activities.


• West Mansfield library branch, 127 N. Main St., hosts spacetime adventure crafts, experiments and story times each Tuesday beginning at 11 a.m. through July 23. Contact the West Mansfield library branch for more information at 355-0033.

• Armstrong Air and Space Museum presents Living on Another World on Saturday, June 15, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Knowlton Library, 220 N. Main St. The presentation is intended to give children in grades K-8 a glimpse of what life might be like on other planets through experimentation with tools “needed to live in alien worlds.”

• Knowlton Library hosts a solar system bracelet crafting time on Tuesday, June 25, at 7 p.m.; and on Saturday, June 29, at 10 a.m. Class size is limited, and registration is required. A $10 fee is due at the time of the program. Children 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Call the library, 599-4189 to register.

• Students in grades 5-8 are invited to participate in the 13th annual Writers Rule program, which takes place every Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. and culminates on a writer’s recital on Saturday, July 27, at 4:30 p.m. Registration is encouraged by contacting Knowlton Library, 599-4189.
