Drivers charged

BellefontainePolice Patch

Jabari A. Sabah, 34, of Urbana, was charged Sunday with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and cited for a marked lanes violation, speeding and no safety belt.

An officer of the Bellefontaine Police Department was patrolling northbound on Main Street at Water Avenue around 2:50 a.m. and tracked an southbound van traveling as fast as 43 mph in a 25-mph zone and straddling the southbound lanes.

Upon contact with Sabah, the officer detected an odor of alcohol. Field sobriety tests indicated he was impaired and he was taken into custody.

He refused chemical tests.

• Carmille R. Parmer, 31, of 1642 Township Road 185, was charged Sunday with failure to disclose personal information.

Just before 1 p.m., she was stopped after an officer observed her driving a van in the 300 block of south Main Street. Vehicle records indicated the owner, Parmer, had a suspended license.

She claimed she did not know her Social Security number and she did not have her driver’s license with her. She also told the officer her name was Pam Parmer.

A records check along with license photographs in a statewide database indicated she was lying.

She was cited for driving under suspension  and a stop sign violation.
