Two teenagers were hospitalized Friday following a single-car crash that occurred shortly after 4:30 p.m. Friday on State Route 287 near County Road 28 in rural West Liberty.
Deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report Harley Adkins, 18, was eastbound on S.R. 287 in a 2007 Mazda sedan when he failed to negotiate an S-curve, lost control and traveled off the side of the road.
The vehicle rolled onto its top before coming to rest in a wooded area near the roadway.
The driver, and a passenger, Courtney Adkins, 15, were temporarily trapped inside the car.
Macochee Joint Ambulance District transported the driver and passenger Mary Rutan Hospital for possible injuries.
The driver was cited for failure to control. Damage was heavy to the vehicle and it was towed from the scene.
