Bobbie J. Thomas, 48, of rural West Liberty, was charged Saturday with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and cited for a marked lanes violation, failure to signal, weaving, no safety belt usage and no operator’s license.
She was operating a northbound sport utility vehicle on Main Street near Ingalls Avenue that was observed around 10:55 p.m. crossing the double-yellow center line. Other violations were observed before a traffic stop was made in the 500 block of south Main.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department detected an odor of alcohol and noted her speech was slurred and her eyes were bloodshot, watery and glossy.
Field sobriety tests indicated she was
impaired but she declined to provide a breathalyzer sample.
Officers noted in the report she has prior OVI convictions in 2015 and 2002 and physical control conviction in 2016.
