Wife indicted in shooting death of Dublin area doctor

HOLLI OSBORN

COLUMBUS — The wife of a Dublin area doctor who was shot and killed in July was indicted Friday on two counts of murder in connection to his death.

Dr. Christopher Osborn, 50, whose primary office is in Dublin but who was affiliated with numerous area hospitals, including Mary Rutan Hospital where he was working part time in the emergency department, was shot three times in the head and face while sleeping in bed in his home.

His wife, Holli Osborn, 43, called her father, Ed Cole of Quincy, who “eventually called police” to report this his son-in-law had died, Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said in a news release.

Both murder counts have added firearm specifications. Ms. Osborn, a registered nurse, was intoxicated at the time she called her father, Mr. Cole said in the 911 call. He said she awoke from being passed out and found her husband dead in bed.

Her last known address was East Liberty and she is to appear for an arraignment April 17.

She called her father from the kitchen and remained on the line with him throughout the call that was routed through the Logan county Sheriff’s Office dispatch center to the Dublin police dispatch.

He was found around 7:30 a.m. on July 18.
