Amber R. Garner, 28, of 209 W. Williams Ave., was arrested Monday for telecommunications harassment.

An officer of the Bellefontaine Police Department met with Eric Smith, 212 Grant Ave., around 10:55 p.m. and he showed them about 100 text messages she sent to his cellular phone that day.

As the officer was looking at the phone, Garner tried to call more than a dozen times.

She responded to requests to meet the officer at the police department. She claimed she was concerned about Smith’s wellbeing, but the officer pointed out her messages were hostile and threatening.

Police have dealt with Garner repeatedly in the past several weeks as she has repeatedly harassed her ex-boyfriend, Smith.

She was lodged in the Logan County Jail.

• Joseph M. Ward, 31, and Lela C. Jones, 45, both of 208 Spruce Ave., each was charged with domestic violence Sunday.

Officers were called to the residence around 4:40 a.m. and learned from witnesses the two fought each other.

Both had visible injuries.

Ward also was charged with possession of marijuana as he had some in a bag stashed in a front pants pocket.

Both were lodged in jail.

Two children in the residence were placed in protective custody with Logan County Children’s Services.
