Brewfontaine team ready to start The SYNDICATE

Facility will provide event, catering space for culinary team

Opening Brewfontaine in late 2015 has proven to be a successful business gambit for owners Adam Rammel, Jeramy Fitzpatrick and Brian Wall.

Its cozy ambiance, limited menu and ever-changing craft brews on tap, ciders and sodas have made it a destination spot and earned’s honor as Ohio’s top Craft Beer Bar three years running.

Now, the trio is ready for a different venture: The Syndicate, an event and catering center that will be built on the adjoining 213 S. Main St. lot occupied years ago by Jackson’s News Stand.

While next door to Brewfontaine, The Syndicate is not an extension of the daily bar operation. Rather, it will be a symbiotic operation using the bar’s skilled staff to provide event services onsite or offsite for corporate meetings, weddings and other celebrations.

“While we’ve been known for our beer selection, people are now talking more about our food,” Rammel said. “We have a skilled culinary team and The Syndicate will give them the space for catering and event food prep.”

The catering arm will be known as Brewfontaine Premier Events, formalizing an operation that has already been providing limited services.

The Syndicate, a name chosen to reference back to Jackson’s News Stand, also will provide a venue for Brewfontaine events such as wine tastings, beer pairings, cooking classes and musical events.
