Collin R. Downing, 23, of 303 E. South St., Quincy, was charged with two misdemeanor counts of assault as a result of an incident reported Wednesday while he was babysitting at 303 Poplar St., Quincy.
Deputies responded to the residence about 4:40 p.m. after receiving a report from the mother of the children, Heidi Clark of Huntsville, who stated her oldest child had told her that he was being pushed around by Downing.
When deputies arrived, they spoke with a 13- year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl. Deputies saidthe 13-year-old had lumps on his head where he said Downing had hit him, and the 12-year-old reportedly had been cut by a metal staple in a wall after being pushed by the defendant.
Downing told deputies that he had used a “little too much force” when pushing the 12-yearold.
He was transported to the Logan County Jail.
