Michael A. Woodruff, 36, of 180 S. Main St., West Mansfield, was charged with persistent disorderly conduct regarding an incident at his residence.
Deputies responded to his address about 3:30 p.m. in reference to a disturbance. The caller, Woodruff, said his mother was threatening to kick him out of the home because he was intoxicated.
When deputies spoke with the defendant, they observed that he was extremely intoxicated. His mother told deputies that he was being argumentative and that one of the rules in the house was that he not consume alcohol.
Deputies permitted him to make alternate arrangements to stay with a friend. However, while the defendant was gathering his belongings, he reportedly began throwing items and then became belligerent with deputies. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail.
Drugs, handgun recovered in traffic stop
Deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Springfield man for multiple charges including possession of drugs and of a loaded firearm following a traffic stop just before 10 p.m. Friday on south U.S. Route 68 near Virginia Drive.
Cleophia Perkins, 45, was stopped for operating his vehicle 78 mph in a 55 mph zone. The suspect admitted that he did not have a valid driver’s license.
Signs of impairment were observed, including the smell of burnt marijuana.
A search of the vehicle turned up suspected marijuana, and the suspect also failed field sobriety tests. A loaded revolver was also found in the trunk.
He was charged with possessing weapons under disability, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, possession of marijuana, speeding, and driving without a license.
The cases was forwarded to the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office for a review of additional charges.
OVI charges filed
David Harless, 40, of 708 Eastern Ave., was charged about 1:08 a.m. Saturday with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, obstructing official business, possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop in the area of County Road 28 and State Route 292.
