Kenneth Davidson, 55, of Russells Point, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, and was cited for driving without a license, driving under suspension and failure to reinstate his license during a traffic stop Wednesday.

Officers of the Washington Township Police Department on patrol in the area of State Route 366 and Allen Drive about 8:50 p.m. spotted a vehicle with only one operating headlight and initiated the stop.

While speaking to Davidson, officers noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle.

The driver was asked to exit the vehicle and officers noticed the strong odor of an alcohol beverage coming from Davidson.

During field sobriety testing, the defendant was unsteady on his feet, nearly falling to the ground. He was unsuccessful at completing sobriety testing satisfactorily, and was placed under arrest.

He was transported to the Logan County Jail.

Davidson has several prior OVI convictions in 1991, 1993, 1997, 1998 and 2008.
