Results of the Nov. 6 General Election were certified Monday in a regular meeting of the Logan County Board of Elections.
No results were changed from the unofficial results submitted on election night.
According to the official results certified Monday, a total of 16,782 ballots were cast overall, representing a 53 percent voter turnout countywide.
About a third of those ballots — 5,640 — were cast absentee, in advance of Election Day, and a total of 10,892 voters filled out ballots at their local polling places, according to certified results.
A total of 250 provisional votes were certified Monday and added to the list of unofficial results.
In other election board business, a proposed policy on use of social media has been tabled.
The Ohio Secretary of State’s office has encouraged county boards of election statewide to create policies on use of social media sites to disseminate official election news in an effort to protect against misinformation.
An official Logan County Board of Elections social media presence, including a Facebook page, could be in use in time for the May elections, administrators said.
