Women arrested after bar incident

LoCoSheriff DoddsCarStar

Samantha A. Minger, 28, of North Lewisburg, and Devin N. Gilley, 26, of 996 Township Road 55, Bellefontaine, each was lodged in the jail after an incident that reportedly began Tuesday evening at the parking lot of C.J.’s Bar, 165 E. Lake St., Lakeview.

Deputies responded to the area about 11:40 p.m. on a report of two women who were intoxicated and attempting to leave in a vehicle.

The caller then reported that one of the women did leave in a vehicle and nearly ran over the other woman.

Gilley was located walking in the area of U.S. Route 33 and Harrison Avenue. She said Minger was operating her vehicle.

Deputies observed that Gilley showed signs of intoxication and was having trouble keeping her balance.

She was placed under arrest for public intoxication.

While deputies were speaking with witnesses in the parking lot of the bar, Minger reportedly drove back into the parking lot and deputies spoke with her there. They noticed she displayed signs of intoxication, and she told them that she had consumed “one shot.”

When asked about the events of that evening, deputies said Minger could not recall much about the details and was slurring her speech.

She submitted to field sobriety tests, and was placed under arrest for OVI.
