Motorist charged with OVI

BellefontainePolice Patch

Brandy M. Turner, 42, of 6111 S. Township Road 32, West Liberty, was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, a turn signal violation and failure to use a safety belt after a 12:45 a.m. traffic stop Thursday.

Witnesses reported she was in 2000 block of south Main Street driving all over the road. An officer observed her turn her pickup truck from High Point Village shopping plaza, 2053 S. Main St., onto Main without signaling.

Once stopped, she reportedly nearly fell from her pickup truck and had to stabilize herself by holding onto the open door. She acknowledged that she took prescription pain relievers and that her doctor has advised her not to drive at all because of her physical condition.

She was unable to complete all of the sobriety tests and was taken into custody. She refused to provide a urine sample for analysis nor a breathalyzer sample.

Officers found an open container of beer and four more cans in a cooler. She claimed all were possessions of her adult son whom she claimed to have dropped off at his girlfriend’s residence after picking him up in Mt. Victory.

Reports note there were feminine related items in the cooler leading officers to believe the cooler and its contents were Turner’s.
