Timothy Reisinger, 28, of 417 Walker St., was extracted from the pickup by Bellefontaine Fire and EMS Department personnel after the 6:30 p.m. Wednesday crash in a creek bed just north of his residence.

Witnesses told officers he was traveling more than 60 mph northbound on the street and deliberately drove Haley Fox’s vehicle into the tree- and brush-lined creek bed.

Officers report he had been drinking heavily and got into an argument with Fox. Reisinger admitted he was trying to kill himself.

Pending charges could include operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, reckless operation and criminal damaging.
