DeGraff Country Fair returns Aug. 23-25


The 2018 DeGraff Country Fair kicks off at 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, and continues Friday, Aug. 24, and Saturday, Aug. 25, with amusement rides, contests, a 5K run planned and a parade.

The fair committee has contracted with a new ride company this year, Big O Amusements, with rides opening Thursday and Friday at 5 p.m., and at noon Saturday.

The beer garden returns this year and will be open at 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and opens at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

The 5K begins at 8 a.m. Saturday, with registration starting at 7 a.m. in front of the stage. A Fun Run is slated for 9 a.m. Saturday.

Prior to the parade at 2 p.m. Saturday, a community pep rally begins at noon by the stage, and line up for the parade also is at noon at Riverside Schools.

Here’s a look at other scheduled events:

Thursday, Aug. 23 — 6:30 p.m. pageants for prince and princess, junior king and queen, and baby and toddler contests; 8 to 10 p.m., J&S Productions Karaoke.

Friday, Aug. 24 — 5:30 p.m. Dance Fusion performance; 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Main Event Wrestling; 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. SaMaX on stage.

Saturday, Aug. 25 — 9:30 a.m. free cardio drumming class with Tiffany of Fit Moms; 4 p.m. talent show with M&C DJ Services and More at stage, cornhole tournament in front of firehouse; 6 p.m. baked goods and crafts 50/50 auction; 7 to 10 p.m. bingo at firehouse; 8 p.m. brain freeze snowcone eating contest; 9 p.m., cutest baby/toddler winners announced, fire department gun raffle winners drawn; 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Bamboo Haris performance; 11 p.m., raffle drawing for grand prizes
