Graham Local Schools representative Mike Ludlow was sworn in to his first term on the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center Board of Education during its organizational session Wednesday.
Mr. Ludlow, who is serving a second term as board member at Graham, retired from Graham High School in 2006 after working as a teacher, librarian and athletic director.
Bellefontaine City School representative Anne Reames and Benjamin Logan’s Bill Ramsey were voted unanimously to serve as board president and vice president, respectively, their ninth consecutive term in these roles. Warren Stevens of Urbana will again serve as the legislative liaison.
As part of the OSBA Board Recognition Month, Superintendent Dr. Rick Smith recognized the local members for their dedication and service to students and education.
Dr. Smith also reported the district was awarded part of a teacher grant through the Midwest Regional Educational Service Center for OHP teachers to earn additional certifications to provide college credit courses.
In other action, the board approved, accepted or authorized:
• a $100 donation for Graham FCCLA competition expenses from Ron Riley Construction of Findlay, and a $200 donation for the Graham FCCLA competition expenses from Parker Trutec of Findlay;
• out-of-state professional development of Ashley Thompson, Marysville satellite ag instructor, to visit the Chicago Agricultural School in Chicago; and
• the treasurer to contract with Freytag & Associates architects to develop a scope of work to install a new walk-in cooler and freezer replacement.
The next regular meeting is at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24.
