Bellefontaine Municipal Court Judge Ann Beck announced this week an upcoming amnesty program for individuals whose fines/costs are past due.
During the amnesty period of Feb. 8 through 19, all individuals whose fines or court costs are past due may pay one-half of all fees and the remainder will be waived.
Individuals wanting to participate should pay the fines or court costs to the Clerk of Courts during the scheduled dates. The payments can be made by cashier’s check, money order or cash.
People interested should go to the Municipal Court’s website, www.ci.bellefontaine.oh.us/municipal-court.html, for details of the program and to look up the amount that is currently owed.
Officials also noted that amnesty does not apply to orders of restitution, which must be paid in full prior to participating in the program.
The court is located at 226 W. Columbus Ave. and business hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office can be reached at (937) 599-6127.
