CANTRELL |
Amanda F. Cantrell, 24, of 505 Brookwood Drive, was charged Friday with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs after a crash in downtown Bellefontaine.
She also was cited for failure to control, no safety belt, driving under suspension and failure to stop after a crash, officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report.
Around 9:35 p.m., she was northbound and her car struck a parked pickup truck in the 200 block of south Main Street. After pausing for approximately two minutes, witnesses said the motorist continued on. She stopped at Village Pantry, 200 E. Sandusky Ave. where a Bellefontaine squad responded.
She was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of facial injuries.
The car sustained heavy front-end damage. Inside the interior, officers observed several empty blister packs of over-the-counter cold medicine and sleep aid.
An officer interviewed her at the hospital and she appeared confused and disoriented. She left the emergency room against medical advice and tried to leave. The officer noted she was unsteady on her feet and was unable to maintain her balance. She also declared multiple times that she was in Fairborn, not Bellefontaine.
She was arrested and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Damage was moderate to the pickup registered to Gregory L. McElroy of Zanesfield.
