Two county residents were injured in a car-motorcycle crash Saturday evening east of Huntsville.
Aaron Preston, 56, of Huntsville, was driving a northbound Honda Fit on County Road 49 about 7:40 p.m. when he failed to yield at a stop sign and traveled into the path of a 2001 Harley-Davidson motorcycle which struck the car’s driver’s side door, troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol report.
Sarah Stafford, 60, of DeGraff, a passenger on the motorcycle, was thrown from the vehicle. She sustained serious injuries and was transported by CareFlight helicopter to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
The motorcycle’s operator Brian Long, 53, of Rushsylvania, sustained minor injuries and was transported by squad to Mary Rutan Hospital.
Preston was not injured. Neither Long nor Stafford were wearing helmets, troopers said.
Crash investigation continues. Bellefontaine Fire and EMS and Huntsville Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.
