Margery K (Steinberger) Forry, 94, was born on Nov. 29, 1926 and passed away at Willow Brook Christian Village in Delaware, Ohio, on Feb. 6, 2021, where she had been a resident since 2015.
She is predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years, Donald R. Forry. She is also predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Mabel (Kiblinger) Steinberger and her siblings Nancy Olivia Steinberger, Mary Julia Kiser and Curtis Martin Steinberger. Margery was born in Logan County, and graduated from Bellefontaine High School, in 1945. During high school, she worked at the Mary Rutan Hospital, as a Records Keeper.
After high school, she moved to Columbus in 1946, earning her degree from Bliss College and remaining in Columbus after graduation. During college, Margery worked for the Veterans Administration and remained there until the birth of her children.
As a young married couple, Margery and Donald lived in Worthington and Hilliard, and ultimately settled in Upper Arlington, where they raised their family. Margery was a resident of Upper Arlington for 54 years, before moving to Delaware, Ohio. Margery was involved in many of her children’s activities, supporting Little League and Marching Band, a den leader for Boy Scouts and Camp Fire Girls and a long-time member of the OSU Mother’s Club. Margery enjoyed family vacations and her travels to visit with family. She enjoyed family gatherings, along with the good food and fellowship that followed. She was a talented oil painter, quilter and seamstress, an avid reader and she enjoyed hosting holiday parties.
Margery is survived by her loving children Mark (Linda) Forry, Mike (Chris) Forry and Janice (Timothy) Allton; grandchildren Daniel, Andrew (Stacy), Zachary and Shannon Forry, Trevor (Tracy) Allton, Katharine and John Forry; great-grandchildren Nolan and Reylan Forry and George and Elizabeth Allton; step-grandchildren Caitlin and Maria Omness. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families. The family wishes to thank the Willow Brook Christian Village staff and Heartland Hospice for their mother’s care and companionship. Margery enjoyed all her new friendships and activities at Willow Brook. It is the memories of a life well-lived, that her friends and family will continue to carry with them in their hearts.
Due to the current circumstances with Covid-19, the family will have a private funeral service at Schoedinger Northwest, with interment at Greenwood Cemetery in DeGraff.
