Jacob M. Gayman, 34, of 600 W. Columbus Ave., was charged Monday with domestic violence, possessing drug abuse instruments and carrying a concealed weapon. He also was served a warrant for failure to appear.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department arrived at 1098 Heritage Court at 6:55 p.m. after a witness told dispatchers the suspect had hit his father-in-law, John Corey.
Gayman ran from the building but was located in a nearby wooded area and taken into custody at gunpoint. Officers were told he may have taken a knife from the residence.
A long kitchen knife and a pipe of smoking crack cocaine were located in the immediate area where Gayman was located in the wooded area.
He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Materials stolen from work site
Employees of Thomas and Marker Construction Inc. reported Monday morning $1,000 worth of sheeting, boards and roofing supplies were stolen from a job site at 310 S. Main St. over the weekend.
