Anthony Mathews, 35, at large, was charged with domestic violence and criminal trespass related to an incident Wednesday afternoon.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department were dispatched about 2:15 p.m. to the 8,800 block of Township Road 239 in reference to a domestic disturbance.
Officers were advised that Mathews was on the property trespassing and throwing metal rods at a family member.
Upon officers’ arrival, Matthews fled on foot. The area was checked but Matthews could not be located. About an hour later, officers received information that Matthews came out of a wooded area and was soaked in water and covered in burrs.
K9 Bruno checked the area and located Matthews in a lot used to store boats. He was taken into custody and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
This is the third time Matthews has been arrested for criminal trespass on that property, officers note. The Logan County Sheriff’s Office, Russell’s Point Police Department and Waynesfield Police Department assisted.
