Brent R. Burkholder, 34, of 11341 Kiowa Path, Lakeview, was charged with domestic violence related to an incident at his address Saturday evening.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded about 11:10 p.m. to his residence on a report of a domestic dispute.
Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim, an 80-year-old woman, who said Burkholder had tried to choke her, expressing his anger after she had called law enforcement earlier in the day.
The victim said Burkholder had placed his hands around her neck and she was able to fight him off by resisting physically and yelling at him.
She added that the defendant was extremely intoxicated at that time.
Deputies said Burkholder then entered the home, after possibly hiding out in a shed on the property. They also noted that he was unsteady on his feet. He told deputies that the dispute had only been verbal and a physical altercation had not occurred.
The defendant was placed under arrest and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
