Brayden D. Hobart, 22, of 275 Stephenson St., Lakeview, was charged with domestic violence related to an incident at his address Thursday evening.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to his address about 7:35 p.m. on a report of a domestic dispute. Hobart had called the sheriff’s office to report that his girlfriend locked him out of the residence and he wanted assistance obtaining his property.
Upon arrival, deputies said Hobart was no longer at the residence. However, they spoke with his girlfriend, who said Hobart had grabbed a bag with his clothing and his video gaming system and left the home. She noted that he was very intoxicated.
She said she arrived home that day and Hobart had been yelling at her 3-year-old child. When she intervened, she said the defendant became angry and began breaking and throwing some of her belongings.
His girlfriend realized Hobart was drunk and said she asked him to leave the residence, as she had two young children at the home. After he went outside, she said he damaged the entry door to the home in a “fit of rage.” Deputies noted that the door had heavy damage and could no longer be secured.
Deputies searched the area for Hobart, and a Ohio Department of Natural Resources officer was able to locate him in a wildlife area nearby Indian Lake. Deputies responding to the area observed that the defendant still displayed signs of intoxication.
Hobart’s hands also were bleeding, which he told deputies was a result of him punching at a dresser at his home. He was placed under arrest and was transported to the Logan County Jail.
