Colan E. Spires, 24, at large, was arrested Friday after he allegedly grabbed Allyson Overly by her neck and slammed her head into a wall.
He was located at 308 Spring Ave. and charged with domestic violence, intimidation, disrupting a public service and violating a civil protection order.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department met with Overly around 11:10 p.m. and she told officers she came home to find Spires in her 318 E. Auburn Ave. residence. She had obtained a temporary protection order the day before.
He met her just inside the house and took her cellular phone from her. He then removed their four-year-old son from the car while Overly took care of their 11-month-old son. She repeatedly asked him to leave but instead he picked up a baseball bat and threatened her. He also asked her to drop the protection order and charges from the prior day.
She again asked him to leave at which point he assaulted her.
She provided access to her cellular phone so officers could view messages and videos from the suspect.
He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
On Thursday, he allegedly grabbed her by the throat and choked her. He also elbowed her in the face, visibly injuring her lower lip. Overly told officers she had ended the relationship a week earlier but was letting Spires stay at the residence for the time being.
