Nicholas R. Miller, 38, of Lakeview, was charged with a felony count of aggravated burglary, along with misdemeanor count of domestic violence, after he allegedly broke into his ex-girlfriend’s residence Monday morning.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to his ex-girlfriend’s residence on Lincoln Boulevard, Russells Point, about 6:25 a.m. after she reported that Miller had forced entry to his residence.
Upon arrival, his girlfriend told deputies that she had allowed Miller to the home the previous evening for dinner and that he had become intoxicated and needed to be driven home.
She said after he was dropped off at his residence, he attempted to follow her in his vehicle.
Then that morning, his ex-girlfriend said she woke up to find him in her bedroom. She said he claimed to have climbed in through a window. She said she attempted to call 911, but he allegedly took her phone from her and then placed his hand over her mouth when she tried to call to her niece at the home to help her.
Her niece was able to call 911 and Miller then left the residence. Deputies said they observed an area of a window screen that had been cut and that would allow an individual to pass through the window.
Miller was located by deputies at his residence. He said that he went to his ex-girlfriend’s residence “to make things right” and claimed he entered the house through an unlocked door. He was placed under arrest and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
