Wesley W. Bickle, 53, of 3796 Harrison Road, Bellefontaine, was charged with assault and disorderly conduct following an incident at his residence Tuesday evening.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to his address about 6:25 p.m. after Mr. Bickle reported an unwanted guest.
When deputies arrived, they noted the defendant was intoxicated and unsteady on his feet. He told them he wanted them to remove his roommate, Harold Stokes, 67.
Mr. Stokes reportedly was asleep and sober. When deputies spoke with Mr. Stokes, he said Mr. Bickle had been drinking throughout the day and that Mr. Bickle kept interrupting him while he was trying to go to sleep.
Mr. Stokes also reported there had been an altercation in the hallway, where the defendant pushed him into a wall. No injuries were reported, and no damage to the residence was observed.
Mr. Bickle became argumentative with deputies, and made threats to harm his roommate. He was transported to the Logan County Jail.
Litter complaints investigated
Deputies are investigating litter complaints received from:
• Veronica Zimmerman, 308 E. Main St., Quincy, at 11 a.m. Monday reported that someone had dumped garbage in her front yard.
• Gary Smith, 570 W. Township Road 199, Bellefontaine, reported about 10 a.m. Saturday that someone dumped tires and a vacuum in one of his fields.
Warrants served
Deputies served warrants to:
• Myron D. Payne, 61, of 110 Railroad St., Rushsylvania, domestic violence.
• Anthony M. Mathews, 29, of 8890 Township Road 239, Lot 16, Lakeview, Logan County Common Pleas warrant for failure to appear on original charge of possession of drugs; Bellefontaine Municipal Court warrant for possession of drug abuse instruments.
