Officers are investigating what appears to be a suicide at Comfort Inn, 260 Northview Drive.
Clean staff found Jarrod L. Elsass, 33, of East Liberty, dead in a room around 2:40 p.m. Wednesday.
Elsass sustained an apparent self-inflicted gun shot wound, investigators reported, and a pistol was recovered at the scene. There is no evidence at this time to indicate foul play as the room was locked when staff opened it to clean.
The Logan County Coroner’s Office has ordered an autopsy.
