AKRON, Ohio (AP) — A man found guilty of attacking and running over and killing a man at an interstate rest stop in Ohio has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.
Summit County’s prosecutor says 35-year-old Paul Randall, 35, of Dolgeville, New York, was sentenced Monday in Akron after pleading guilty to charges including aggravated vehicular homicide and grand theft of a motor vehicle.
A release from Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh says witnesses told investigators Randall knocked 43-year-old Scott Reichard, of North Olmsted, to the ground on Aug. 17 at an I-77 rest stop in Bath Township. Witnesses said Randall then stole Reichard’s pickup truck, ran over him and drove away.
The State Highway Patrol found Randall the next day in Ohio’s Guernsey County.
A message seeking comment was left for Randall’s attorney.
