Ernest J. Harber, 31, of 203 Green St., was charged Friday with theft.
Around 1:40 a.m., a clerk at Village Pantry, 200 E. Sandusky Ave., activated a panic alarm and an officer of the Bellefontaine Police Department and a deputy of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
They found Harber outside and learned he was causing a disturbance inside the convenience store. He was trying to heat a foil-wrapped sandwich from a fast food chain in a microwave. The clerk told him to not to do it and to stop harassing other patrons.
He then grabbed a lighter from the counter, threw down 50 cents and walked out. He also allegedly picked up a bundle of firewood from stack and threw it.
The officer issued him a summons and informed he was no longer welcomed at the store.
